Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to patients of all ages in the ER, including triage, assessment, monitoring, and ongoing evaluation.
- Develop and implement nursing care plans based on the nursing process, in collaboration with physicians and other members of the health care team.
- Administer medications, start IVs, obtain specimens, monitor vitals, and assist with procedures as needed.
- Coordinate care, communicate with patients and families, and provide discharge teaching and planning.
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses; ensure safety and adherence to clinical standards and hospital policies.
- Delegate appropriate tasks to CNAs and other staff within legal scope of practice; participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Requirements
- Active RN license in California (CA)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency department
- Willingness to work nights and 12-hour shifts
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
- Eligibility for a 13-week travel assignment with a 36-hour work week
