Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed respiratory therapies (nebulized medications, oxygen, humidification, chest physiotherapy) and monitor responses.
- Operate and manage respiratory care equipment, including ventilators; adjust settings per protocol; monitor alarms.
- Perform arterial blood gas collection and analysis; document results and correlate with patient status.
- Assess patients’ respiratory needs, develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the care team.
- Educate patients and families on therapies, devices, and safety precautions; reinforce infection control practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure equipment inventory and safety checks are completed.
Requirements
- Licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in Georgia (Georgia Composite Medical Board)
- NBRC – RRT credential
- AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in respiratory care within the specialty
- Ability to work in an inpatient, acute care environment; 12-hour night shift availability
- Ability to travel for a travel assignment and meet assignment start date
