Travel Registered Nurse PACU Job
Registered Nurse – PACU travel assignment in Hawaii (Hilo) starting 08/24/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range $1,915–$1,946 per week. Rotating shifts with variable hours. Hospital setting; PACU/Phase I–II recovery responsibilities in a post-anesthesia care environment. This is a travel - temporary assignment.

Responsibilities
- Provide post-anesthesia care for patients in PACU and Phase I–II recovery, monitoring stability, airway, breathing, circulation, and pain management.
- Assess incision sites, track body temperature and other indicators of recovery; respond to changes promptly.
- Collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams; communicate patient status and readiness for transfer to phase II or discharge.
- Monitor and operate equipment such as PCA pumps, monitors, and warming devices; document care in the patient record system (Meditech).
- Maintain patient safety, perform appropriate documentation, and prepare patients for handoff or discharge per unit protocols.
Requirements
- Hawaii RN license by start date (active, unencumbered; apply if not currently in possession).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) recommended and may be required for specific positions.
- Minimum 2+ years of critical care nursing experience (ER or ICU) in a hospital setting; this may be substituted for PACU experience in some cases.
- Ability to demonstrate strong critical care knowledge, incisional assessments, and use of PACU/ASU protocols.
- Flu vaccination proof or facility-approved medical/religious exemption prior to contract start date.
- Must be able to arrive Thursday prior to start date for mandatory employee health appointment.
