Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the ED setting, including triage, initial assessment, and ongoing monitoring of acuity and stability
- Administer medications, perform basic procedures, and assist with emergent interventions as part of the ED team
- Document care and orders accurately in the EPIC EMR; ensure clear communication during handoffs
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to develop and implement patient care plans
- Monitor patient safety, vitals, and responses to treatment; prepare patients for discharge or admission as appropriate
- Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and hospital policies in a fast-paced, small ED environment
Requirements
- Active RN license in Hawaii (or eligibility to obtain)
- Emergency Department/ER experience required or strongly preferred
- Strong EPIC EMR experience for documentation and order entry
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a rotating schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to work effectively in a small ED setting and collaborate with a compact team
- Prior acute care or rural ED experience is desirable
