Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient population in Med/Surg, following the nursing process from assessment through evaluation
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, supervise assigned staff, and coordinate with other disciplines to ensure safe, effective care
- Administer medications and treatments, monitor vital signs, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Document care in the electronic health record, ensuring accuracy, privacy, and compliance with policy
- Participate in discharge planning, patient and family education, and continuity of care across transitions
- Delegate appropriately and support the nursing team to maintain a safe and healing environment
- Provide education and learning opportunities for patients, families, and team members
Requirements
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice (California) or eligible for licensure
- Minimum two years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from an approved vendor
- ACLS certification (AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS) Required
- EPIC electronic health record experience required
- BSN preferred; ADN with relevant Med/Surg experience may be considered if otherwise qualified
- Ability to work in an acute care Med/Surg setting and align with a 3x12-hour day shift schedule
- Must meet facility and assignment-specific requirements as applicable
