Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for IMCU/PCU patients with high-acuity conditions, including sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergencies, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, substance use, and encephalopathy.
- Monitor patient status, interpret assessment findings, and respond to evolving clinical conditions; manage heparin drips and other IV therapies per protocol.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed; ensure timely administration and accurate documentation in the EHR.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (physicians, case management, and ancillary staff) to coordinate care plans, rounds, and discharge planning.
- Maintain patient safety, infection control, and quality standards; observe and report changes in patient conditions and escalate as needed.
- Uphold unit protocols with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio around 1:4; participate in routine care coordination and timely documentation.

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in PCU/IMCU or a closely related high-acuity unit
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Ability to work the night shift and participate in a 16-week travel assignment
- Willingness to work in a hospital-based IMCU/PCU environment with acute care responsibilities
- Flexibility to adapt to unit procedures, rapid changes in patient status, and teamwork in a high-paced setting
