Travel Registered Nurse PCU Job
Registered Nurse – PCU in Olathe, Kansas, United States. This is a travel, temporary assignment starting 06/08/2026 for 13 weeks on a 3x12 Night shift in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital setting. Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for PCU patients, including ongoing assessment, monitoring, medication administration, and coordination with the care team.
- Manage critical care equipment and procedures common in PCU, including CRRT, BiPAP, chest tubes, and PICC lines; perform own labs as required.
- Respond to clinical emergencies and conduct codes when needed; day-1 open-heart care with pacer wires experience is required.
- Document thoroughly in EPIC; collaborate with physicians, therapists, and family to support safe discharge planning and follow-up.
- Floats to ICU and inpatient units (Med/Surg, Med/Surg Tele, Acute Tele, ED) as needed with prior experience and adherence to unit policies.
Requirements
- Active KS RN license or Compact RN license; BLS, ACLS, and NIHF certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU/CCU experience; must have CRRT, BiPAP, drawing own labs, chest tubes, and PICC experience
- Open-heart day-1 experience with pacer wires required
- Ability to float to ICU and multiple inpatient units (Med/Surg, Med/Surg Tele, Acute Tele, ED)
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR; able to document accurately and promptly
- Scheduling and shift requirements: 12-hour night shifts; every other weekend; holidays per unit needs
