Responsibilities
- Review patient records and monitor progress to inform care decisions
- Conduct continuing review of hospitalization to assess necessity, length of stay, and quality of care
- Provide utilization review and case management services for referred-care program patients
- Collaborate with physicians, leadership, and care teams to ensure appropriate, cost-effective interventions
- Coordinate discharge planning and patient/family education to support timely discharge
- Ensure accurate documentation and communication with payers and regulatory entities as required
Requirements
- Active Alaska Registered Nurse license; must be in good standing
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- 8 years of clinical nursing experience, with 3 years in chart review, risk management, or related quality service
- Case Management certification preferred (e.g., NCQA, CCMC)
- Flu vaccine required
- Fingerprinting/clearance process required; start date will be no earlier than 5 weeks after fingerprint submission and processing
