Responsibilities
- Provide direct perioperative nursing care in the CVOR, including scrub and circulating responsibilities for cardiovascular procedures
- Maintain sterile technique, manage instrument counts, and anticipate the needs of the surgical team
- Monitor intraoperative patient status, manage hemodynamic support documentation, and communicate with anesthesia and surgical staff
- Prepare, troubleshoot, and manage CVOR equipment and inventories; assist with case setup and turnover between procedures
- Document intraoperative events and maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team; participate in on-call/holiday coverage as required
Requirements
- Active Kansas RN license
- BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years CVOR experience in a Level I trauma center
- Recent strong scrub experience on cardiac surgeries and circulating experience
- Ability to work in a high-acuity operating room environment and participate in on-call/holiday coverage
