Responsibilities
- Deliver direct, coordinated nursing care for ER patients following established standards and the nursing process
- Assess patients, monitor conditions, recognize changes in status, and communicate findings to the care team
- Administer medications and therapies, manage IVs, and document interventions accurately
- Collaborate with physicians, bedside teams, and ancillary staff to coordinate timely, high-quality care
- Supervise and direct activities of nursing staff across levels; delegate tasks as appropriate
- Participate in discharge planning, patient and family education, and safety initiatives to ensure continuous, compassionate care
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- At least two years of recent experience in ER or acute care settings
- BLS certification required; ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) specific to the organization’s policy
- Experience with EPIC and Cerner electronic health record systems required
- Ability to work night shifts in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
