Responsibilities
- Provide skilled PTA services under the supervision of a licensed PT, focusing on functional mobility and activities of daily living.
- Implement and progress prescribed treatment plans, including therapeutic exercise, gait training, balance work, and ROM activities.
- Monitor patient responses, document progress, and communicate changes to the supervising PT and care team.
- Assist with patient education, safety, and discharge planning; support correct use of transfers and assistive devices.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold infection control and safety standards in a long-term care setting.
Requirements
- Active Physical Therapy Assistant license or eligibility for licensure in Maine (state-specific requirements apply).
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
- Prior LTAC or skilled nursing experience preferred; ability to work effectively within a rehab team.
- Basic documentation skills and strong communication with patients, families, and team members.
- Willingness to participate in a travel assignment and adapt to a dynamic care environment.
