Registered Nurse – L&D (Labor & Delivery) travel assignment in Olympia, Washington. This 13-week assignment starts 07/14/2026 and uses a 3x12-hour Day shift. Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for labor & delivery, postpartum, and C-section recovery; circulate for cesarean sections and support recovery.
- Deliver postpartum couplet care, administer medications, start IVs, monitor maternal/fetal status, and document in the electronic charting system.
- Support newborn care in the Level II NICU environment, including stabilization and coordination for transport when needed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (Respiratory, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Work, Rapid Response, Unit Secretary, Interpretation Services) to ensure safe, patient-centered care.
- Float within the POD and sitter duties as assigned; participate in on-call when requested but not required; uphold safety and quality standards.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license appropriate for the assignment; pending licenses accepted.
- Certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS; AWHONN Intermediate preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, or C-section settings; first-time travel nurses accepted.
- Unit exposure: Level II NICU experience preferred; ability to work with neonatal stabilization/transport processes.
- Ability to work 3x12-hour Day shifts; every other weekend required; on-call not required; float within POD as needed.
- Local restriction: Travelers with permanent residence within 50 miles of the listed location are not eligible.
- Onboarding: Completion of pre-start modules (approximately 16 hours) prior to start; orientation is required (36 hours).
- RTO: All requested time off must be included with submittal.
