Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care to patients per physician orders and established protocols.
- Operate and monitor devices including mechanical ventilation, non-invasive ventilation, oxygen delivery, and airway clearance devices.
- Perform arterial blood gas collection and analysis as required; assess and interpret results to guide therapy.
- Administer prescribed therapies (inhaled medications, chest physiotherapy, humidification) and adjust settings as indicated.
- Document care accurately in the electronic health record; communicate patient status and changes with the multidisciplinary team.
- Ensure patient safety, infection control, and adherence to AHA guidelines; participate in rounds and care planning.
Requirements
- Active Georgia RRT license with NBRC credential (RRT)
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in respiratory care within the specialty
- Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Ability to work in a hospital setting on a travel assignment; schedule includes day shifts
- Must be willing to work two major holidays of the three (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s) and one minor holiday (the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year’s Eve)
