Registered Nurse (Med Surg) – Saint Johnsbury Center, Vermont, United States. Travel – Temporary Assignment for 13 weeks starting 08/12/2026. Weekly pay $2,071–$2,124 with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Shift: 3x12-hour days (7am–7pm). Unit: general Med/Surg within a Critical Access Hospital. Primarily adult patients with occasional pediatric cases; this is not a pediatric-only unit. Travelers will start on Wednesdays; during the orientation week, those on a 48-hour contract may have a guaranteed 36 hours due to midweek start. Housing resources are provided as a local list, but candidates are responsible for securing their own housing. Northeastern Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom offers year-round outdoor recreation and a peaceful rural setting.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for adult and occasional pediatric patients on the Med/Surg unit, applying the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
- Coordinate medical, surgical, outpatient, observation, swing bed, and pediatric care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team; participate in rounds and discharge planning.
- Administer medications, monitor patient status, manage IV therapy, wound care, and routine procedures within scope of practice; respond to acute changes in patient condition.
- Document care and outcomes accurately in the medical record; ensure patient safety, infection control, and confidentiality.
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and team members; provide education and emotional support to patients and their families as appropriate.
- Maintain flexibility in a general Med/Surg setting, with occasional pediatric cases, while upholding the unit’s standards and policies.

Requirements
- Licensure: Current Vermont RN license or multi-state RN licensure
- Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association) and ACLS required prior to start
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of acute care nursing experience
- Education: Registered Nurse (RN) education appropriate for licensure
- Skills: Ability to work in a general Med/Surg setting with mixed adult/occasional pediatric patients
- Preferred: Meditech experience
