Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult medical-surgical patients on the neuro unit, including routine assessments and care planning
- Monitor neurological status, vital signs, and overall clinical condition; identify changes and escalate as needed
- Administer medications, IV therapies, wound care, tubes, and telemetry per physician orders and RN standards
- Document assessment data, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record; participate in rounds and care coordination
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on discharge planning, patient education, and family communication
- Maintain safety, infection control, and patient population-specific standards; respond to emergencies and ensure appropriate fall prevention
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience within the Neuro Med Surg specialty
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
- Ability to work in a hospital setting and adhere to unit protocols
- Additional unit-specific requirements may apply as needed for staff turnover and overflow coverage
