Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse – Med Surg, travel assignment in Atlanta, GA, US. Start June 1, 2026 for an 8-week assignment. Weekly pay range: $1,533–$1,626. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to adult patients on a high-acuity med-surg/trauma unit, including spinal neuro trauma surgical cases, gunshot wounds, paraplegia, and similar conditions.
- Perform ongoing patient assessment, administer medications (IVs, injections), manage lines and drains, monitor lab results, and respond to clinical changes.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team; participate in rounds and handoffs between the ED and admitting unit; ensure clear, timely communication.
- Document thoroughly in the electronic health record (EPIC); maintain accurate patient charts, orders, and care plans.
- Ensure patient safety and infection control, provide patient and family education, and participate in discharge planning and care transitions.
- Coordinate with Nursing Support Techs, phlebotomists, and night unit secretaries to support patient care and unit operations; maintain appropriate patient staffing and workflow.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a specialty that includes high-acuity or trauma med-surg with populations such as spinal neuro trauma surgical patients, gunshot injuries, paraplegia/quadriplegia.
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
- EPIC experience required.
- Ability to work day shift as assigned; no planned time off (no RTO); ability to function in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience on a high-acuity med-surg/trauma unit and comfort with complex patient populations.
