Responsibilities
- Circulate cardio-vascular/open-heart cases in the OR and support a range of surgical specialties as needed
- Maintain sterile technique, ensure instrument counts, and manage intraoperative safety
- Monitor patient status intraoperatively, administer medications per protocol, and assist with positioning and patient safety
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, perfusionists, and other OR staff; communicate intraoperative needs and changes
- Manage intraoperative documentation and ensure timely entry in the EMR (Epic), with emphasis on accurate recording of events and counts
- When floated to other OR suites, circulate as assigned (scrubbing not required) and support efficient case turnover
- Participate in on-call rotations and weekend coverage as described in the assignment notes

Requirements
- Registration: current RN license and ability to practice in Vermont (or license eligibility)
- Certification: BLS required; CNOR preferred
- Experience: minimum 2 years OR RN experience with recent Cardiovascular/Open Heart OR work; prior travel experience required
- EMR: Epic experience within the past 2 years (non-negotiable)
- Skills: high competency in CV OR procedures, ability to work in a large academic/teaching environment
- Flexibility: able to float to other OR suites as needed; comfortable circulating when floated
- Schedule and logistics: must be flexible with schedule to meet unit and patient care needs; reliable transportation required (public transit not available in the area)
- Education: RN degree from an accredited program
