Radiology Technologist Assistant position in radiology, based in Watertown, NY. Responsibilities
- Provide patient care within approved delineation of privileges under physician supervision; support across the lifespan with clinical expertise and teamwork.
- Perform patient assessments using age-specific principles; educate patients on procedures and obtain informed consent when appropriate.
- Assist supervising physician with radiologic procedures and patient management; help organize workflow and prepare procedure rooms.
- Document procedures accurately, including notes, imaging findings, and patient outcomes; maintain patient confidentiality and comply with safety and infection control standards.
- Conduct fluoroscopic and interventional imaging procedures as listed, including barium studies, ultrasound- or CT-guided biopsies, breast biopsies with marker clip placement, joint injections, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and related imaging-guided interventions.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field; graduate of an approved course acceptable to the New York State Education Department.
- Certification: Current ARRT certification in Radiography; additional certifications in CT, Ultrasound, or Interventional Radiology (e.g., RA) are highly desirable; RA/PA radiology-focused certification preferred.
- Life Support: BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Experience: Radiology or interventional radiology experience is beneficial.
- Work setting: Ability to work effectively in a hospital travel assignment environment and maintain professional standards.
