Responsibilities
- Provide direct, patient-centered care for adults in IMCU/PCU, including assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Monitor hemodynamics, respiratory status, and other clinical parameters; administer medications and therapies per orders; manage chronic ventilated patients as needed with RT support.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team (physicians, nurses, therapists, case management) to coordinate care and ensure timely, safe patient progress.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EPIC EMR; communicate changes in patient status to the care team; participate in rounds and care planning.
- Respond to acute changes in patient condition, implement rapid assessments, and support post-op and neuro/cardiac/trauma pathways as assigned.
- Float to other units as required by staffing and patient needs; adhere to unit protocols and safety standards for 12-hour night shifts.
Requirements
- Active registered nurse license in New York (NYS RN); NURSYS license verification for NY and any additional RN licenses.
- Minimum 2 years of IMCU/PCU experience.
- Current certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
- EMR experience required: EPIC.
- Ability to work night shift (12-hour blocks) and float to other units as needed.
- Up-to-date resume showing 2+ years of IMCU/PCU experience and travel experience.
- RTO (time-off) must be included at time of submission.
