Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adults on a telemetry-focused neurology unit, including monitoring neurological status and documenting observations.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor for adverse effects, and adjust care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Perform neuro assessments and implement seizure precautions; participate in continuous EEG/video EEG monitoring processes as directed.
- Collaborate with neurology, nursing specialists, case management, imaging, and therapy services to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition, contribute to rapid problem-solving, and ensure safe patient handling and fall prevention.
- Assist with on-call and on-unit needs on rotating shift schedules, including weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- Active New York State RN license (only NY licenses accepted at this time)
- Minimum 2 years of RN clinical experience
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Telemetry experience required
- NIHSS certification highly preferred
- Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and callback as per unit needs
