Responsibilities
- Provide patient care under supervision of a licensed nurse, including assistance with activities of daily living (personal hygiene, toileting, nutrition, ambulation)
- Collect basic health data as directed and document accurately and promptly
- Prioritize patient care, escalate needs, and participate in emergency interventions when required
- Maintain patient dignity and promote a caring, respectful environment
- Ensure a clean, safe work environment and report safety hazards
- Transport patients for scheduled tests and assist with patient groups and activities as assigned
- Perform 1:1 supervision as assigned and monitor patient needs during that time
- Support de-escalation and redirection of disruptive or potentially violent patients
- Assist with ambulation and functional activity to maintain or improve mobility
- Participate in ongoing education, orientation activities, and in-services as needed
Requirements
- Licenses: Current Certified Nursing Assistant certification required; MA CNA licensure preferred. Alternative qualifications from Job Notes may apply, including: 75 hours in an accredited nursing program with first rotation completed; or active EMT/Paramedic Certification; or active Patient Care Technician/Assistant Certification; or active Home Health Aide Certification
- CPR: American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification obtained within 60 days of hire
- Education: High School Diploma preferred
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in a long-term care facility or equivalent setting
- Additional: Successful completion of a Nurse Aide program or equivalent credential per MA requirements; ability to work in an inpatient care setting and follow established standards of care
