Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for adult neuro/PCU patients, including timely neuro assessments and routine monitoring of vital signs.
- Document patient status, treatments, and responses in the electronic medical record (EPIC) and communicate changes to the multidisciplinary team.
- Administer medications and therapies per physician orders, monitor for adverse effects, and manage IV therapies as indicated.
- Collaborate with physicians, case management, and ancillary staff to develop and implement patient care plans and assist with discharge planning.
- Maintain patient safety, perform accurate charting, adhere to infection control practices, and support fall prevention and patient education.
- Uphold professional standards of practice and comply with unit policies, confidentiality, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Active RN license in Georgia (US).
- Minimum 2 years’ RN experience in neurology, neuro step-down, or related PCU setting; strong med/surg background with NIHSS, ACLS and some step-down experience may be considered.
- NIHSS in CV packet must be included to be considered.
- EPIC EMR experience required; please note on profile.
- Nursys license verification required.
- Must provide a resume with no gaps greater than 60 days, along with a Skills Checklist, References, Certification Card.
- Education: RN with current licensure in the state; specific degree not listed in notes.
- Ability to work in a hospital setting; no block scheduling and weekends not required.
