Responsibilities
- Evaluate residents’ functional abilities, including ADLs, mobility, cognition, and psychosocial factors
- Develop and implement individualized OT treatment plans based on evaluation findings and physician orders
- Provide direct occupational therapy services in accordance with state and federal regulations and facility policies
- Monitor and document resident progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to meet goals
- Participate in care planning meetings and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team
- Educate residents, families, and caregivers on strategies to promote safety and independence
- Recommend adaptive equipment and assistive devices as needed
- Supervise and provide direction to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and therapy aides, as appropriate
- Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic medical record
- Maintain licensure and continuing education requirements as mandated by state regulations
- Support quality improvement initiatives and comply with CMS and facility guidelines
Requirements
- Active Occupational Therapist license in Missouri
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
- Prior SNF or geriatric rehabilitation experience preferred
- Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented environment
- Willingness to adhere to facility policies and regulatory requirements
