Speech Language Pathologist – Acute Care travel assignment in Cumming, GA, United States. Start date: July 6, 2026. 13-week assignment with guaranteed 40 hours per week. Shift: 8x5 Days. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech-language pathology evaluations and provide treatment for adult inpatients across a wide range of medical and surgical diagnoses, including ICU, stroke/neurological conditions, dysphagia, cognitive deficits, and respiratory considerations.
- Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans to address communication, swallowing, cognition, and related functional goals; document patient progress and outcomes.
- Perform bedside swallow evaluations and manage dysphagia therapy; collaborate with nutrition and nursing staff to ensure safe nutrition and timely advancement.
- Document assessments, treatment plans, and progress in the electronic health record; ensure orders align with physician directives and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support patient care, discharge planning, and education for patients and families; participate in rounds and care conferences as needed.
- Utilize MBSS/FEES proficiency as a plus to support dysphagia evaluation and management, when available; adapt therapy to varied medical and surgical diagnoses.
Requirements
- Georgia license for Speech-Language Pathology with CCC-SLP (active preferred)
- AHA BLS certification
- 15-18 months of recent experience within acute care/Speech-Language Pathology specialty
- MBSS/FEES proficiency is a plus (not required)
- Demonstrated ability to work in an inpatient acute care setting and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team
