Responsibilities
- Provide direct perioperative nursing care for adult patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures in the CVOR.
- Maintain sterile technique, patient positioning, and instrument/ equipment readiness in collaboration with the surgical team.
- Monitor intraoperative patient status, respond to changes, and support anesthesia providers as needed.
- Document perioperative care in electronic health records (EPIC) and manage supply/medication administration using Omnicell.
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and continuity of care from pre-op through postoperative recovery when appropriate.
- Adhere to unit policies, dose calculations, and infection control practices; participate in handoffs and team communication.

Requirements
- Licensure: Current New York State license as a Registered Nurse
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an associate’s degree
- Experience: 1+ year of relevant nursing experience; CVOR or perioperative experience preferred
- Certifications: ACLS and BLS required
- Special requirements: Ability to work in a CVOR setting with 1:1 patient care as applicable; on-call availability; ability to float to CVOR coverage as needed
- Technology: Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records and Omnicell supply management
- Other: Floating may occur if census is low; must meet local travel rules as applicable
