Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse - Med Surg/Telemetry travel assignment in Rome, NY. Start 06/29/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay $1,824–$1,900 per week. Shift is three 12-hour day shifts (07:00–19:30). Work in a hospital setting with floating to Medical-Surgical/Telemetry as needed.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for Med Surg and Telemetry patients, including comprehensive nursing assessments, care planning, and implementation of interventions
- Monitor cardiac telemetry, interpret EKG strips, and administer or titrate cardiac medications and drips per physician orders
- Perform wound care and maintain venous access with strong IV skills; manage IV infusions and medications
- Respond to acute changes in patient condition; participate in appropriate protocols (including NIH Stroke Protocol) and maintain patient safety
- Collaborate with physicians, PAs/NPs, and the care team; coordinate care while floating to Med Surg units as needed
- Document accurately in the electronic health record; ensure clear handoffs and adherence to hospital policies
Requirements
- Active New York State RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
- NIH Stroke Certification required before start
- Minimum 2 years of current RN experience; travel experience preferred
- Ability to float to Med Surg/Telemetry and read EKG strips; strong IV skills; comfortable with cardiac drips
- Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital setting
