Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or group of patients in Med Surg per established standards and the nursing process
- Assess data, analyze findings, and develop a plan to address care issues; implement care and evaluate progress
- Administer medications and treatments accurately; monitor for adverse reactions and ensure patient safety
- Collaborate with the healthcare team, patients, and families to coordinate care and discharge planning
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of nursing staff; delegate tasks appropriately
- Document care in the electronic health record (EPIC) and provide patient education to support outcomes
Requirements
- Licenses: Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (California) – Required
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS – Required
- Experience: Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg or acute care experience – Required
- Education: BSN preferred; active RN licensure in the state of assignment
- Other: Must have EPIC experience; ability to work in a hospital-based Med Surg setting, including night shifts
