Responsibilities
- Implement and adapt occupational therapy interventions within a corrections health care setting under supervision as appropriate.
- Deliver therapy activities to support independence in activities of daily living, fine motor skills, and cognitive-motional function.
- Document patient responses, progress, and treatment outcomes in medical records according to policy and regulatory requirements.
- Modify activities and equipment to align with safety, security, and medical restrictions while promoting patient safety.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop, review, and adjust care plans and discharge planning.
- Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, privacy standards, and facility policies during all therapy sessions.
Requirements
- Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant credential with active licensure/registration as required by North Carolina.
- Ability to work in a corrections health care environment and comply with security and safety policies.
- Strong documentation, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Availability for a 13-week travel assignment with a 35-hour minimum per week and 5x8 day shifts.
- Willingness to travel and work in the stated assignment as required.
