Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in a corrections setting, including assessment, monitoring, and documentation.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments; monitor for adverse reactions and document outcomes.
- Perform regular head-to-toe assessments, monitor vital signs, and escalate changes in condition per protocol.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans, while ensuring patient safety and infection control.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record, respecting privacy and regulatory requirements.
- Respond to emergencies or acute changes in patient status with appropriate nursing interventions and rapid communication.
Requirements
- Current, active Licensed Practical Nurse license in North Carolina.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Education: graduate of an approved practical nursing program.
- Experience: 1 year of relevant clinical experience in long-term or geriatric care preferred.
- Ability to work in a corrections setting and comply with 12-hour shift requirements.
