Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Supervise and direct the activities of various levels of nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines while using critical thinking, professional discretion, and independent judgment.
- Provide care within a general acute-care unit serving a mixed medical and surgical population.
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses; ensure accurate handoffs at shift change.
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and other professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Maintain patient safety, adhere to policies, and contribute to quality improvement efforts within the unit.
Requirements
- Active registered nurse (RN) license in California
- Current license to practice as an RN in the state (CA)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Typically 1 year of Med/Surg or acute care nursing experience
- Ability to work nights and 12-hour shifts in a general acute-care setting
- Willingness to travel and adapt to a travel assignment environment
