Responsibilities
- Provide direct, patient-centered care for Med Surg Tele patients, including monitoring, assessments, and timely escalation of changes in condition
- Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and perform basic clinical procedures per physician orders
- Document care and observations in the electronic health record (Epic) with accurate and complete data entry
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and adjust care plans; facilitate discharge planning and patient/family education
- Maintain patient safety and infection control standards; respond promptly to call lights and changes in patient status
- Float to related units as needed, maintaining competency on unit-specific protocols and equipment
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Massachusetts (or eligibility for compact license per state rules)
- ACLS and BLS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with Med Surg Tele experience preferred; prior travel nursing experience and float experience required
- Epic EMR experience is required
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and to float to related units as needed
- Nursing degree from an accredited program ( BSN preferred; diploma or ADN acceptable with licensure)
