Travel Registered Nurse First Assist Job
Registered Nurse – First Assist (RNFA) in a travel assignment, located in Rochester, New York. Start date: 04/27/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,208 to $2,363 per week. Guaranteed hours: 0.0. Shift: 12-hour day shifts with on-call coverage as needed. This is a hospital-based perioperative role requiring RNFA responsibilities in a surgical setting.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the RN First Assistant in the operating room under the surgeon’s direction, supporting exposure, dissection, hemostasis, and tissue handling for safe, efficient operations
- Act as both scrub and circulating RN as required when not performing RNFA duties; uphold perioperative nursing standards and sterile technique
- Collaborate with the surgeon and OR team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes throughout the operative phase
- Provide Robotic da Vinci assistance; experience in robotic urology, gynecology, colorectal, thoracic, or general surgery preferred
- Maintain CNOR certification, complete RNFA training, and hold NY RN licensure; ensure ongoing adherence to perioperative best practices
- Work Monday through Friday days with on-call responsibilities per unit needs; no weekends or holidays unless required by the unit
Requirements
- New York Registered Professional Nurse license (active)
- CNOR certification required
- Completion of an accredited RN First Assistant program and RNFA credential
- Robotic surgery experience required (da Vinci); subspecialties such as robotic urology, gynecology, colorectal, thoracic, or general surgery are a plus
- Minimum two years OR experience; Level 1 trauma OR experience preferred
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
