- Onboarding: Bi-weekly orientations on Mondays; no block scheduling
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient respiratory care for adult inpatients, including ICU and ED, and general pediatric patients (no NICU/PICU) per physician orders and clinical protocols
- Manage and troubleshoot mechanical ventilation, including ventilator settings, alarms, and weaning as appropriate
- Administer prescribed therapies (nebulized meds, bronchodilators, humidification, chest PT) and perform airway clearance techniques
- Assess patient response to therapy, document findings, and adjust treatments in collaboration with the care team
- Perform arterial blood gas draws and processing as ordered; monitor patient status and escalate concerns promptly
- Document care in Epic and maintain complete, accurate patient records; participate in interdisciplinary rounds
- Abide by policy requirements: weekend coverage as needed, no on-call, maintain schedule flexibility, and ensure all prior employment entries are well documented
Requirements
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential; CRT not accepted
- Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS; NBRC verification; NRP
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient experience in adult inpatient, ICU, ED, and general pediatric settings; no NICU/PICU required
- Teaching hospital experience is required
- Epic experience within the past 2 years is required
- Prior travel experience is preferred
- All prior employment specialties and workplaces must be clearly documented in each entry
