Responsibilities
- Perform Computed Tomography scans, including patient positioning, protocol selection, and image acquisition.
- Administer contrast materials per orders and monitor patients for adverse reactions; ensure IV access and venipuncture when appropriate.
- Apply appropriate radiation safety practices, optimize imaging parameters for diagnostic quality, and minimize patient dose.
- Verify orders, identify patients, document procedures, and relay results to radiologists and clinical staff.
- Maintain CT equipment, troubleshoot issues, restock supplies, and participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives.
Requirements
- Active Radiologic Technologist license in California (CA) as required by state practice; ARRT credentials: RT(R)(CT) OR RT(R) per ARRT.
- American Heart Association BLS certification required.
- Fluoroscopy license in California required if operating fluoroscopy equipment.
- Venipuncture certification preferred in CA and OR.
- Advanced CT certification required in OR and HI; CA preferred.
