Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and provide nursing care for patients in the CVICU, with focus on timely assessment and intervention
- Supervise and delegate care to ancillary personnel within scope of practice to maintain high standards of safety and quality
- Apply advanced critical care knowledge for patients with multi-system failure, including ventilation management, neuro/trauma care, respiratory failure, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Monitor patient status, interpret monitors, respond to changes in condition, and escalate as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and patient responses; this position is represented by CNA
Requirements
- Current RN license in California (active or eligible)
- Experience in critical care or CVICU settings preferred
- Ability to work 3x12-hour shifts in a 13-week assignment
- Strong critical care clinical skills, including ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
- Effective communication and teamwork; able to supervise and delegate to ancillary staff as appropriate
- Willingness to work in a high-acuity CVICU environment
