Responsibilities
- Conduct 1:1 patient evaluations and establish a treatment plan for hand therapy patients; administer treatments accordingly
- Deliver 45-minute patient appointments on an hourly basis and reassess goals as progress dictates (typically every 12 visits or sooner)
- Utilize hand therapy techniques and modalities appropriate to the diagnosis; apply clinical decision-making to advance therapy plans
- Document progress notes promptly to support physician follow-up, insurance authorization, and utilization review
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and ancillary staff to optimize patient outcomes and ensure seamless care transitions
- Engage in both inpatient and outpatient service delivery as part of a multidisciplinary team
Requirements
- California license to practice Physical Therapy (active)
- Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program
- BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
- Experience in hand therapy strongly preferred; 1 year PT experience is preferred
- Certification in Hand Therapy is preferred but not required
- Ability to work in an outpatient/inpatient setting and to provide 1:1 patient care in a fast-paced environment
