Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy assistant services under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist in a LTAC/Skilled Nursing setting
- Perform therapeutic exercises, gait training, mobility activities, and functional training to restore and maintain patient function
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjust treatment plans within scope of practice, and communicate changes to supervising PT and care team
- Assist with transfers, device training, ADLs, and safety precautions; ensure proper use of equipment and safe patient handling
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, collaborate with nursing and therapy staff, and ensure accurate, timely documentation in patient records
- Adhere to infection control standards and facility policies, maintain clinical competency, and comply with regulations
Requirements
- Active Physical Therapy Assistant license in California
- Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited program
- 1+ year of PTA experience in rehabilitation; LTAC/SNF settings preferred
- Ability to work the listed shift and travel assignment; ability to meet assignment demands in a long-term care setting
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork mindset
