Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct segments of occupational therapy treatment programs to restore and improve physical, social, and mental function; participate as a co-leader within an interdisciplinary team.
- Complete evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and implement therapy interventions using approved protocols and techniques.
- Establish individualized care and discharge plans; communicate plans to patients, families, and other care providers; document outcomes and progress.
- Maintain comprehensive, accurate clinical documentation within established deadlines; supervise assigned assistants as needed.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and facilitate smooth transitions of care.
Requirements
- Education: Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy or Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) — required; only if the degree was obtained with license after January 2007, or foreign equivalent.
- Licensure: Occupational Therapy licensure in the state of practice — Required.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) or CPR certification from an approved vendor — Required.
- Experience: At least two years of occupational therapy experience preferred; 1 year acute care experience required; ICU experience highly valued.
- Special skills: EPIC or similar electronic medical record experience; ability to work in an inpatient setting; weekend rotation availability.
