Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for electrophysiology procedures, including diagnostic EP studies and ablations; ensure equipment and instrumentation are ready and functional.
- Monitor procedural readouts, assist with lab analysis and interpretation of data, and communicate issues to the patient’s physician or specialist.
- Assist physicians with pacing implementations and installation of cardiac devices related to heart health; prep the sterile field and equipment for studies and ablations.
- Maintain Epic as the primary documentation tool for procedures; assist anesthesia and document during studies and ablations; provide backup pacing during implants.
- Manage room turnover, ensure on-time starts, and coordinate with the Charge Nurse and third-party vendors to align staff and supplies.
- Proficiently support moderate sedation; assist with mapping and navigation systems (e.g., mapping platforms) as available; knowledge of devices such as pacemakers, ICDs, and related implants is beneficial.
Requirements
- Active New York Registered Nurse license (OLNY)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- EP lab experience or cardiac implant experience preferred but not required
- Proficiency in moderate sedation
- Ability to communicate effectively with MDs, anesthesia, and in-room staff; capable of maintaining a sterile field and coordinating equipment and supplies
- Epic documentation experience or familiarity is required
Education and Certifications
- Education: Current RN license in New York
- Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association)
