Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for neonates and a patient group according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent discretion.
- Monitor neonates experiencing lifethreatening conditions and implement NICU protocols aligned with Level III/IV designation.
- Document assessments, interventions, and responses; maintain accurate records and ensure continuity of care across shifts.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to optimize patient safety, comfort, and outcomes; escalate changes in patient status as needed.
- Ensure infection control, medication safety, and adherence to clinical policies and procedures.
