Responsibilities
- Perform transthoracic (TTE), transesophageal (TEE), and stress echocardiograms per protocol, ASE guidelines, and physician orders.
- Operate ultrasound and diagnostic imaging equipment to acquire high-quality cardiac images; use contrast agents (e.g., Definity) and agitated bubble techniques when appropriate.
- Analyze echocardiographic data and prepare preliminary findings for the interpreting Cardiologist.
- May start and manage intravenous lines for contrast echocardiography when credentialed and trained.
- Collaborate closely with Cardiologist and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care; explain procedures to patients and maintain patient safety and comfort.
- Review images for clarity, completeness, and diagnostic value; maintain accurate patient records in PACS or EMR; perform routine quality control and report equipment malfunctions; comply with HIPAA and infection control standards.
- Maintain knowledge of cardiac anatomy and pathology; stay current with continuing education and new echocardiographic techniques; participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and accreditation processes (IAC Echocardiography); participate in required education for applicable program curricula (e.g., DNV-related education).

Requirements
- Education: Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program with a focus in Cardiac Sonography.
- Licenses/ Certifications: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI; BLS certification.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of Echo Tech experience; 3 years preferred.
- Travel-specific: CRASE training required if the travel assignment extends beyond six months.
- General: Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical setting; strong communication skills; ability to operate in a compliant, patient-centered environment.
