Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated ICU nursing care for a patient population or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Supervise and direct activities of nursing staff across multiple levels, ensuring appropriate delegation and evidence-based practice.
- Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and other disciplines; utilize critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making.
- Monitor patient status, perform assessments, administer medications, and implement interventions per unit protocols and physician orders.
- Document care accurately, maintain patient safety, infection control, and combination of therapeutic and self-care activities as part of the care plan.
- Communicate changes in patient condition promptly to the care team and participate in daily rounds to adjust plans as needed.
Requirements
- Active California Registered Nurse license
- ICU nursing experience preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in an ICU setting
- Availability for a 5-week travel assignment starting August 17, 2026
- Willingness to travel to the assignment location and adapt to a hospital ICU environment
