Overview
Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D) travel assignment in Fort Defiance, Arizona. Start date 08/24/2026 for a 16-week assignment. Weekly pay range $2,832–$3,014 per week with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Shift: 12-hour Day shift, with flexibility to cover other shifts, weekends and holidays as needed. Setting: Short-Term Acute Care Hospital with L&D, Postpartum, and newborn care units.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct obstetric nursing care in L&D, postpartum, and newborn units, including labor support, monitoring fetal well-being, pain management, and postpartum recovery.
- Support Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) practices and assist with newborn care, including room-in with mothers and support for breastfeeding.
- Assist with delivery procedures as appropriate, including cesarean and vaginal deliveries, and participate in as-needed charge nurse activities after training.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record, and participate in patient education and discharge planning.
- Maintain patient safety and comfort, respond to call lights, and assist with unit tasks as needed; may float to other departments when qualified.

Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in Arizona (or eligibility to practice in Arizona)
- Minimum five (5) years of recent experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn care in a healthcare setting
- Certifications: American Heart Association ACLS OR ALSO; BLS; NRP; AWHONN Advanced FHM required (may substitute RNC-EFM for AWHONN FHM)
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts with flexibility to cover weekends and holidays; willing to float to other departments as needed
- Education: RN degree from an accredited program
