Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during operative procedures as the surgical first assistant
- Coordinate flow of equipment, supplies, and staff to support the procedure
- Maintain patient safety throughout the perioperative phase and monitor for changes in status
- Participate in patient care planning, assessment, and nursing treatment related to perioperative care
- Document intraoperative events and support handoffs to postoperative care
- Maintain sterile technique, instrument counts, and readiness of the operative field
Requirements
- Active RN license in California
- RNFA certification or documented perioperative nursing experience
- Ability to work in a perioperative and home healthcare - hospice environment
- Strong patient safety focus and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work rotating 8-hour shifts and travel as assigned
