Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Monitor and document patient status, administer medications and therapies, and respond to changes in condition.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of nursing staff, coordinating care with physicians and other disciplines.
- Develop and implement patient care plans, participate in discharge planning, and provide patient and family education.
- Collaborate with the care team to maintain a safe, healing, and humane environment; delegate duties appropriately and exercise clinical judgment.
- Provide accurate health information to patients, families, and the treatment team; support care coordination using the inpatient EMR (Epic) as applicable.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California (state of practice)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg/acute care experience
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS (AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS) required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Education: BSN preferred; ADN acceptable
- Ability to work night shifts and function effectively in a hospital setting
