Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse, Med Surg, Travel – 3x12-hour Nights, Pocatello, Idaho, United States. Start date 07/20/2026 for a weeks-long assignment. Weekly pay range $1,410-$1,484 per week. No guaranteed hours. This position is for a high-acuity adult/geriatric medical-surgical unit on a 48-bed team. Onboarding includes 24 hours of orientation, with onsite RN modules totaling approximately 4–6 hours. Shift: Nights, 3 days on/3 days off cadence, with weekend requirements.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult and geriatric med/surg patients, including assessment, monitoring, medication administration, IV therapy, and basic blood product administration.
- Manage telemetry monitoring, oxygen delivery, and airway support (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, non-invasive airway care) as needed.
- Perform post-op care, wound management, wound VAC considerations, drain care, and CKD/AKI-related considerations; support isolation precautions.
- Monitor for sepsis, respiratory failure, cardiac events, and other high-acuity conditions; interpret ABGs when indicated and respond per protocol.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IV team, PT, Respiratory, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, Rapid Response/Code teams) and participate in rounds and handoffs; provide patient and family education.
- Maintain thorough Epic charting and documentation; ensure accuracy of medications, procedures, and care plans; contribute to safe patient transfers and discharges.
- Assist with CIWA (substance withdrawal) management as indicated and participate in patient safety initiatives.
Requirements
- Active RN license in Idaho or a compact state, in hand at time of submittal
- BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years RN experience; travel experience required
- Med/surg and telemetry experience; ability to care for adults and geriatrics in a high-acuity setting
- Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Epic charting experience; ability to document clearly and efficiently
- Ability to work nights, adhere to unit policies, and meet onboarding/orientation requirements
- Floating to other units within competency and scope of practice
