Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for adults, adolescents, and geriatric patients admitted for endoscopy-related conditions.
- Support endoscopy procedures as circulating or Endoscopy RN, ensuring sterile technique and patient safety during pre-, intra-, and post-procedure phases.
- Assess patient and family needs, develop an individualized plan of care with the interdisciplinary team, and document progress and responses to treatment.
- Educate patients and families on self-care, discharge instructions, and post-procedure expectations; use teach-back and provide written materials as appropriate.
- Maintain infection prevention practices, advocate for patient rights, and participate in quality improvement activities to enhance care delivery.
- Communicate changes in patient condition promptly to the care team and adapt plans as needed.
Requirements
- Active New York State Registered Professional Nurse license
- Minimum 1 year of Endoscopy/public-endoscopy RN experience
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS certifications (per job notes)
- Ability to work in an endoscopy setting and participate in a call rotation
- Flexibility to start shifts early (as early as 6:30am) and accommodate daily role assignments
