Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients in an ICU-related float pool context, following established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Collect relevant health data, analyze assessments, and develop a care plan with prescribed interventions to achieve outcomes.
- Implement the plan, coordinate care delivery, and collaborate with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote a safe environment.
- Monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust care as needed; participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
- Delegate appropriately and coordinate duties of healthcare team members; provide learning opportunities for patients, families, and staff.
- Float pool policy: these nurses should clock in to the unit being worked and coordinate care with the unit-based team.
Requirements
- Active California RN license (as applicable to the assignment)
- ICU or critical care nursing experience preferred
- Ability to work nights (3x12-hour shifts) and participate in a travel assignment
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and care coordination skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a home healthcare - hospice setting and collaborate with patients, families, and care teams
- Effective communication and teamwork; flexibility to float and adapt to unit needs
