Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse - Med Surg, Atlanta, GA. This travel assignment starts 06/01/2026 for an 8-week contract in a high-acuity, trauma-focused med-surg floor with postoperative and traumatic cases. Expect a weekly pay range of $1,526-$1,654, with 36 guaranteed hours per week. Shift: Night, 2x3 schedule. Responsibilities
- Provide direct, evidence-based nursing care for adult patients on a high-acuity med-surg unit, including spinal neuro trauma, gunshot wounds, quadriplegia, and postoperative surgical cases.
- Monitor vital signs, perform neuro checks, administer medications per orders, manage IV therapy, and respond to deteriorating conditions promptly.
- Document accurately in EPIC; participate in nurse handoffs with the ED and admitting units to ensure continuity of care.
- Collaborate with Nursing Support Techs, phlebotomists, and a night-unit secretary to support patient flow and safety; ensure timely phlebotomy and accurate charting.
- Implement wound, pain, and mobility management; enforce fall precautions, infection control, and standard precautions.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families; provide education as appropriate and uphold patient safety and quality standards.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience on a Med Surg/high-acuity unit, including trauma and/or postoperative surgical patients.
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
- EPIC electronic health record experience required.
- Must be willing to work the assigned night shifts (2x3 schedule) and adhere to the unit’s scheduling needs; no block schedules.
- Active RN license and ability to practice in the appropriate state (Georgia) or as applicable.
