Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines using critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent action.
- Collect relevant data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation; analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses and care issues.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate a plan of care, delegating and coordinating duties to ensure safe, effective care and timely discharge planning.
- Provide education to patients, families, and team members; communicate health information clearly to treatment teams.
- Collaborate with the patient, family, and healthcare providers to promote a safe, healing environment and continuity of care.
Requirements
- Licenses/Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN) license active in the state of practice; Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification required; facility-specific BLS (HS-BLS or RQI BLS) may be required.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Experience: At least two years of recent experience in the field; acute care/Med/Surg experience preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency with nursing processes, data collection, and care coordination; ability to work in a hospital setting; EPIC and Cerner experience is preferred.
- Additional: Must be able to work a travel assignment and meet facility vaccination requirements.
